About

Shakti Prarambha Women Foundation is a public charitable trust working with women and adolescent girls — on education, skill, health, safety and self-reliance.

It started with one no too many.

A girl pulled out of school because the fee could not stretch. A woman told her tailoring skill was “just a hobby”. Another who did not know she had a legal right to the roof over her head. Around us, ability was never the problem — access was.

So a handful of women started meeting after work. First a few home visits, then a small tailoring batch, then a health camp. The women who came asked for more, and kept bringing their neighbours. What began as weekend work became a trust, with a name that says exactly what it is for: Shakti Prarambha — the beginning of strength.

What we are here to do

To make education, skill, income, health and legal awareness reachable for every woman in our community — in her own language, near her own home, without a single favour asked in return.

Where we are going

A Maharashtra where no woman’s future is decided by her father’s income, her husband’s permission, or her village’s distance from a city.
